Hardwood stairnosing is an elegant and structurally sound profile that allows Rafe Olsen flooring to be used to clad stair cases. The no drop variation is designed to allow the riser board to fit into the underside of the nosing top. Having no drop gives the nosing an ultra modern look and feel. The no drop version requires a greater degree of accuracy when cutting the riser boards when compared to the long and short drop variations. All Rafe Olsen stairnosing comes pre-machined with a groove to match the tongue on your flooring. This means fitting is incredibly easy; simply knock the nosing on to the end of the flooring as if it was another plank.

Available in long and short lengths and multiple colours. If ordering a Rafe Olsen floor, please select the “colour matched” option and we will apply the same processes to the profiles as we do the floor. This will provide the best possible chance of the profiles and floor being complimentary.

NB – “Colour Matched” finish only available when ordering a Rafe Olsen floor.

Orders delivered on a pallet will not necessarily require a forklift to remove them. Most lorries are equipped with tail lifts and means of manoeuvring pallets to where they need to be left.

On all occasions, consignments will require a signature on delivery. Delivery to a neighbour (or a work address) is perfectly acceptable if they are willing to take responsibly for the goods.

Rafe Olsen stairnosing profiles require a comprehensive level of carpentry or prior experience of fitting hardwood flooring on stairs. The nosing has to be fitted to create a solid step where both tread and riser meet. To fit, ensure the nosing is cut to the desired length and aim to use the nosing profile as the last board on the step. The T&G join will allow the nosing to knocked on to the tongue of the floor board. Stairnosing requires careful planning and measuring of the width and depth of the tread area. Be sure to include the thickness of the riser board in any overall measurements of the step. Take particular care before cutting the floor boards.
